Information that we collect and how we use it

· Personal information that you provide – When you register as a member of a department, agency or team that has subscribed to one or more of our Services, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, telephone numbers, text message address, email address and an encrypted account password). Your department, agency or team may also ask for additional personal information in custom fields that they create within your member profile. We do not monitor the creation of those fields. We are limited in the information that we possess by the information that you provide, and many of the data fields are non-mandatory. This information is collected in order to facilitate the functionality of the Services provided. When you share information with us, we can make the Services even better for you. and some of the personal information (such as your name) is necessary for the proper use and functionality of the system within your department, agency or team. In addition to your personal information being made available to us, your personal information may also be made available by your own department, agency or team, through the Services, to designated members of your own department, agency or team, depending upon permission levels specified by your own internal system administrators, but shall not in any circumstance be provided by ESMC to any third-parties that are not specifically affiliated with ESMC for the purpose of delivering the functionality of our Services.
· Personal information that is provided by your department, agency or team – Your department, agency or team that has subscribed to one or more of our Services may provide us with your personal information (such as your name, telephone numbers, text message address, email address and an encrypted account password). · Cookies – When you visit our website(s), we may send one or more cookies – a small file containing a string of characters – to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our Service by storing your session data in order to be able to automatically re-connect your computer to our system in the event that you lose your Internet connection. Cookes are also used to keep you logged into the sytem and to understand how you use our services. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some of our Services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.
· Log information – When you use our Services, our servers may automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
· Location Information – When you use a location-enabled Service, we may collect and process information about your actual location, like GPS signals sent by a mobile device. This may include data such as current location, speed of travel and/or direction of travel. We may also use various technologies to determine location, such as sensor data from your device that may, for example, provide information on nearby Wi-Fi access points and cell towers. You have the ability within your own mobile device and/or computer to enable or disable location services, which controls whether or not we are able to obtain this information from you. Any live tracking of your current location is controlled by you wihtin your own system settings and can be disabled by you within those settings.
· User communications – When you send email messages, text messages, dispatch messages or other inbound or outbound messages through the Services, we retain those communications in order to process your communications, to provide future reporting for you, to respond to your requests and to improve our Services. ESMC does not make any such communications available to any third-parties that are not specifically affiliated with ESMC for the purpose of delivering the functionality of our Services, other than to the extent that they may be transferred, at your initiation, through the infrastructure platforms of the internet service providers, push notification providers and/or cellular service providers of the recipients whom you select as the intended recipients of your communications.
· Links – Our Services may present links in a format that enables us to keep track of whether these links have been followed. We may use this information to improve the quality of our customized content and marketing. If you click on a link that directs you to a website other than one included within our Services, the privacy policies of that website or service will apply to any information obtained from, or disclosed by you, and you should review those privacy policies. Your department/agency/team may also cause links to be presented within the services (such as within the “Resources” section of the Services). We do not monitor or control those links in any manner, and if you click on a link that directs you to a website other than one included within our Services, the privacy policies of that website or service will apply to any information obtained from, or disclosed by you, and you should review those privacy policies.
· Other sites – This Privacy Policy applies to web sites and Services that are owned and/or operated by ESMC. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed as links from within our various Services. These other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you.
ESMC only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We use the information we collect from all of our Services to provide, maintain, protect and improve them, to develop new ones, and to protect ESMC and our users. We also use this information to offer you tailored content -like providing information specific to your department, agency or team, and Mapping Services specific to where you are located.
Information collected is further used by ESMC for the following reasons:
· Providing our products and Services to users, including the display of customized content;
· Auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our Services;
· Ensuring the technical functioning of our network; and
· Developing new Services.
ESMC stores and processes personal information on our servers in Canada and the United States of America and may also process such information from time to time in other countries. In some cases, we may process personal information on a server outside your own country. However, Canadian customer data is stored only on servers maintained within Canada. We process personal information to provide our Services to you and your department, agency and/or team that subscribes to the Services.
Choices for personal information
You can decline to submit certain personal information related to any of our Services, in which case we may not be able to provide those Services to you. Your personal information is visible, editable, and removable by you on your member profile page within the Services. If your department, agency or team does not provide you acess to that member profile page, then the data on that profile page may be obtained by contacting us directly, in writing, to request a copy of that. Other personal data may also be included in other sections of the Services, such as reports of incidents you have responded to, your credentials, your duty schedule, etc. That is considered data of your department, agency or team that has subscribed to the services, and is data that is entered only by you or them, and is not controlled by us.
Evey user of the Services has the following data protection rights:
· The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small service fee for this.
· The right to rectification – You have the right to request that our company correct any information that you believe is inaccurate, and to complete any information that you believe to be incomplete. This will be done in conjunction and cooperation with the local system administrator(s) of your department, agency or team that has subscribed to the Servies and through which you gained access to the Services.
· The right to erasure – You have the right to request that our company erase your personal data, under certain conditions. This will be done in conjunction and cooperation with the local system administrator(s) of your department, agency or team that has subscribed to the Servies and through which you gained access to the Services in order to preserve the accuracy and integrity of their data.
· The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that our company restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain circumstances. This will be done in conjunction and cooperation with the local system administrator(s) of your department, agency or team that has subscribed to the Servies and through which you gained access to the Services in order to preserve the accuracy and integrity of their data.
· The right to object to processing — You have the right to object to our company’s processing of your personal data, under certain circumstances. This will be done in conjunction and cooperation with the local system administrator(s) of your department, agency or team that has subscribed to the Servies and through which you gained access to the Services in order to preserve the accuracy and integrity of their data.
· The right to data portability – you have the right to request that our company transfer your personal data to you, under certain circumstances. This will be done in conjunction and cooperation with the local system administrator(s) of your department, agency or team that has subscribed to the Servies and through which you gained access to the Services.

Information Sharing
ESMC only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of ESMC in the following limited circumstances:
· We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any personal information with any other companies or individuals that are not specifically affiliated with ESMC for the purpose of delivering the functionality of our Services.
· With your local system administrators. Your local IamResponding account administrator(s) who provide(s) user support to your organization will have access to your account and personal profile information (including your email address and other personal data). Your local administrator may be able to: view your member profile (other than your encrypted password); view statistics regarding your account; change your account password; suspend or terminate your account access; access or retain information stored as part of your account; receive your account information in order to satisfy applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; control who else in your department, agency or team can access your member profile; and restrict your ability to delete or edit information or settings.
· We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on your behalf, our behalf, and on behlaf of your department, agency or team, and/or to deliver the functionality of our Services to you. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
· We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of ESMC, its users or the public as required or permitted by law. If presented with a valid court order compelling the release of any such personal information, then if and to the extent possible, ESMC will notify you prior to any such release of information so that you may take any steps you deem necessary and/or appropriate concerning such information.
We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information (information that is recorded about users and collected into groups so that it no longer reflects or references an individually identifiable user), such as the number of registered users and/or website visitors in one or more geographical region, for example, or how many users clicked on a particular segment of our website(s). Such information does not identify you individually.

Information security
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data.
